Hospital Partners

The Southwest Indiana Internal Medicine Residency program is uniquely designed in collaboration with two partner hospitals, Ascension St. Vincent Evansville and Good Samaritan Vincennes. With both hospitals having a focus on primary care, they compliment one another well. The patient population for Evansville and Vincennes is both ethnically and socioeconomically varied, with a small primary care provider base and even small general Internal Medicine capacity, which currently limits access to care. These factors ensure there will is a large, medically and socioeconomically varied patient base for residents assigned to the resident-faculty practice.

Both facilities have active affiliations with numerous smaller organizations that deliver care to rural patients, offering a depth and breadth of clinical experience with a diverse population of patients.

Good Samaritan

Good Samaritan has a large rural socioeconomically varied primary care base, not only in southern Indiana but also extending almost 100 miles into four counties in southeastern Illinois.

Ascension St Vincent Evansville

Ascension St. Vincent Evansville is a regional care provider, with significant subspecialty resources and a large referral population from southern Indiana, southeastern Illinois, and western Kentucky, resulting in an economic base which is a blend of rural, urban, and industrial.
