The Indiana University School of Medicine Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is part of a satellite location of the Cochrane Pregnancy and Childbirth group. Cochrane is an international, not-for-profit organization dedicated to making health care readily available worldwide. The group produces and distributes reviews of health care interventions while promoting the search for evidence through clinical trials and other studies. As the United States satellite location, the department is a leader in advocating for the use of Cochrane evidence in obstetrics.
The department is partnering with Central Michigan University School of Health Sciences as part of this satellite, which covers the entire United States. The goals of the satellite are to recruit new authors, support U.S. authors, manage training activity, conduct reviewer training workshops, train referees to support ongoing registered titles of the pregnancy childbirth group, support consumer networks, promote knowledge translation activities and improve communication strategies with other Cochrane groups.
Cochrane Fellowship
As part of the Cochrane satellite location, the department includes a Cochrane research fellowship opportunity. Fellows work with faculty researchers and the Cochrane group to study women’s health.
