The highly competitive Deaconess Research Institute’s Summer Research Internship Program is designed to provide a select group of medical students and/or pre-med students hands on experience with real-world practice-based research projects. Interns work on multiple projects and shadow faculty to observe industry-sponsored pharmaceutical/biotech clinical trials.
Interns work on investigator-initiated research concepts under development by Deaconess Clinic Investigators, including projects initiated by the Deaconess Cancer Committee, The Women’s Hospital, and Deaconess Hospital.
Interns have the opportunity to be part of the potential scientific publication associated with such research and often present their work at a national conference. This internship can be compatible with the Scholarly Concentration, Quality and Innovation in Healthcare.
