Amyloidosis

This is a study for both men and women who have been diagnosed with amyloidosis. The purpose of the study is to obtain preliminary information about changes, or changes over time, in skin nerve activity in patients with amyloidosis with nerve problems like numbness and tingling in the hands and feet and compare that to skin nerve activity in healthy volunteers.

Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease (ASCVD)

This study is looking at the effectiveness of the drug, PCSK Inhibitors, in adults with a recent ASCVD event (myocardial infarction), stable or unstable angina, coronary or other arterial revascularization, stroke, transient ischemic attack, or peripheral arterial disease presumed to be of atherosclerotic origin. This study will assess cardiovascular events in adults who are initiated on the drug PCSKi versus those who are not.

Cardiac Rehabilitation

This study is open to men and women who will be participating in cardiac rehabilitation. Participants in this study will be asked to wear a fitness tracker for up to four months while attending the cardiac rehab sessions. The study is looking to improve cardiac rehabilitation participation for patients.

Heart Failure 

Patients are asked to join this research study to discover if the study drug, sacubitril/valsartan, is safe and has beneficial effects when added to conventional heart failure therapy in patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction who have been stabilized after being admitted to the hospital for new or worsening heart failure.

Heart Transplant

This observational study is for heart transplant patients, assessing a special blood draw to possibly gain an early diagnosis of organ rejection.  Patients who have this blood drawn as part of their post-transplant management will give informed consent for information on their outcomes and other relevant clinical information.

High Cholesterol 

This study is open to men and women to collect information about the blood level of a specific marker lipoprotein(a). Similar to other blood lipids such as the ‘bad cholesterol,’ lipoprotein(a) levels were found to be associated with the risk of hardening of the arteries, known as atherosclerosis, which leads to conditions such as heart attacks, stroke, or peripheral artery disease (severe pain in legs while walking or lower limb amputation).
