Department of Medicine Match Day Results for 2024

The Department of Medicine is pleased to announce the names of 76 new learners who have matched into department residency programs. These fourth-year medical students will soon begin their residency training in either Indianapolis, Muncie or Evansville.

A generous donation from Lawrence Joseph Wheat, MD, to establish the Wheat Family Program of Excellence for Transplant Infectious Diseases will help IU School of Medicine recruit and support faculty members within the specialty, with the hope of leading to further discovery.

In memoriam: Remembering Dr. Dale Rouch

It is with profound sadness that the Department of Surgery announce the passing of a distinguished colleague and revered member of our medical community, Dr. Dale Rouch. A devoted husband, father, grandfather and surgeon, who peacefully passed away on January 21, 2024. Dale is survived by his beloved wife, Dr. Debra (Conerty) Bergman Rouch, and leaves a legacy through his children: Rachel Bergman (Mel Yanson), Dr. Joshua Rouch (Maeghan), Stephanie Rouch, Andrea Laxton (Ben), and Evan Bergman.
