portrait of Dean Jay Hess

Dear Colleagues,

I am excited to announce that IU School of Medicine will be launching a competitive national search for the next chair of the Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology at the end of this month. As we have for other leadership positions, we will consider a broad, diverse and accomplished group of candidates. I am confident that IU School of Medicine will recruit a strong leader, who will further build on the department's strengths.

Please join me in thanking Bill Sullivan, PhD, for his service as interim chair of the department, as well as Bryan K. Yamamoto, MS, PhD, who stepped down as chair last fall after seven distinguished years in the role. I look forward to partnering with you as we continue to further the mission of the department and the School of Medicine.

Sincerely,

Jay L. Hess, MD, PhD, MHSA
Executive Vice President for University Clinical Affairs
Dean of the School of Medicine
Indiana University

Please note that Senem Guler, MSHRM, assistant director of faculty recruiting, will be your point of contact for any procedural questions related to the search. View the full job description and application details.
