The Bone and Soft Tissue (BST) Pathology Fellowship program provides advanced training in the subspecialty through exposure to a wide range of diverse cases at Indiana University School of Medicine, a leading academic medical center.
In this one-year program, the BST fellow will participate in all aspects of BST pathology, including review of in-house and consultation cases, participation in multidisciplinary sarcoma conferences and frozen section consultations. The fellow will not be expected to take in-house call.
The case material includes a robust mix of benign, malignant, adult and pediatric cases that originate from more than ten hospitals. Electives (e.g., molecular pathology, musculoskeletal radiology) and protected research time are available. Attendance at teaching conferences, including a bi-weekly bone and soft tissue consensus conference, and tumor boards, is expected. Fellow scholarly activity is required, and participation in research projects is strongly encouraged.
The fellowship is housed in a world class, dedicated core pathology laboratory that is located on the beautiful Indianapolis central canal and cultural trail.
Requirements
Candidates must have completed an accredited AP or AP/CP pathology residency, or meet fellow eligibility requirements for ACGME Selective Pathology fellowship programs. Candidates must also hold (or be eligible for) a medical license in the state of Indiana. If candidates are not citizens of the U.S., they must hold a valid visa.
Position
We offer one fellowship position per year all with a start date of July 1.
Stipends
Stipends are commensurate with the year of postgraduate training in pathology.
