HANDS in Autism

The HANDS in Autism® Interdisciplinary Training and Resource Center provides a full continuum of unique and customized learning and service opportunities ranging from live, real-time to online, asynchronous formats all designed to improve capacity for understanding and applying strategies with fidelity to individuals with a range of intellectual and functional abilities and neurodevelopmental, behavioral and other challenges across the lifespan.

HANDS boasts trained interdisciplinary staff with longstanding experience serving individuals, families and teams and substantial experience in providing direct services as well as hands-on training, collaboration and support relevant to diverse community stakeholders, such as school personnel and medical and community providers.

At the state-of-the-art training center at the IU School of Medicine, staff members provide hands-on training, ongoing coaching, shadowing, supervision and diverse consultative experiences. These experiences extend to statewide community as well as globally, building bridges of information, resources and collaboration across family, educational, medical and multiple other communities.
