Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship

Creating a path forward for trainees to thrive in child and adolescent psychiatric patient care

The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at Indiana University School of Medicine is an integral part of the Department of Psychiatry. The program is built on the position that child psychiatric specialization is best done within a context designed to understand the entire life cycle. Children are part of a family system, community, culture, and larger society, and the child must be understood within that framework.

Completing child psychiatry training is not an endpoint but rather a springboard for the child psychiatrist as a physician, therapist, researcher, life-long learner and teacher. The program is designed to prepare graduates for a lifetime of continued growth and action in the expanding and evolving world of child and adolescent psychiatry.

Curriculum

The fellowship trains each child psychiatrist in essential clinical experiences while allowing for tailoring of experiences to support the fellow’s unique career focus.
