Education and Training Opportunities
The Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences at Indiana University School of Medicine takes seriously the responsibility to provide an optimum learning environment and provides a world-class clinical experience at five hospitals, capitalizing on the benefits afforded to faculty and learners to partner with the IU Health System. The department and its statewide clinical partners use a team approach to capture the expertise of medical specialists, physical scientists and technologists to educate the next generation of radiologic professionals.
The Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program, currently one of the nation’s largest, receives more than 600 applications each year for 13 positions. Additionally, the department offers Diagnostic Imaging Physics and Interventional Radiology residencies.
Imaging is a core component of clinical diagnosis. Medical students perform a month-long clerkship dedicated to learning the fundamentals of radiology, diversifying and strengthening the foundation of their medical education.
